Treatment Protocols
I will mark off the area to be treated while the client is standing. The client must remove any jewelry and piercings in the treatment area.
The client will lay down in and I will ensure they are positioned correctly and feel comfortable.
I will adjust the settings of the machine.
I will apply the anti-freezing gel pad to the treatment area.
I will position the applicator onto the treatment area. I will gently increase the suction intensity and adjust according to the client's comfort.
When the treatment time is completed, I will remove the applicator, the gel pad, and clean off the remaining gel.
I will finish the application by doing a gentle massage the treatment area for 3-5 minutes. This massage is proven to give you the best results which can yield 20-30% reduction in the treated area(s). Massaging the area(s) after this will not harm anything, but there is no research at this time to suggest it will speed up the results.
What to expect during the treatment
The initial sensation is the skin being pulled into a vacuum. During the cooling process, the area may sting or feel a little uncomfortable. After approximately 10 minutes, the area should feel cold or numb.
What to expect after the treatment
Immediately after treatment the skin may look red and bruised and may feel tender to touch.
Cold Injury
I will always use a new anti-freezing membrane for each treatment area in order to prevent cold injury.
In the event a client should experience an adverse reaction, please contact me immediately and document with photographs. If necessary, I will ask you to see a qualified medical professional (your PCP, a dermatologist, or Urgent Care Facility).
